Alright so here i am, the train arrived at the bangalore city railway station at 6:00 AM in the morning, the city has three railway stations in total which are Yashwantpur, Bangalore Cantt. and the bangalore city..

When i stepped out of the compartment i was getting the feeling that whether the air conditioner is still on or its natural in the environment! it was so cool, calm, pleasant just feels like heaven...

The first experience was really nice, well as far as climate is concerned, my elder bro's friend was there to pick me up so i went with him to his apartment on his bike, during the ride i noticed apart from the traffic signals which were new to me as i was coming from a very small city where we have no traffic lights no helmets mandatory and the list goes on, so what i noticed that the roads were really small keeping in mind that the city is big and moreover its an IT hub!

Anyways we reached in no time as we were travelling early in the morning so no traffic at all...

All in all the experience was okie dokie well uptill now...

Journey to a new city

So here goes, alright the city was Bangalore now its Bengaluru, Karnataka, the city is famous for its IT culture IT hub and whatever you can add with the word IT...

This city have only one thing which is just superb, its weather! climatic conditions are so exceptionally good well atleast from other parts of the country (India) and specially in my case as i am from North India and climate there is really hard rough and harsh as well and yes hot too no damn hot too! with temperatures soaring upto 45 sometimes 48 with no electricity, inverter all dried up and you are left with nothing except to wipe your sweat from every portion of your body every now and then.... sounds amazing right? :P

So I was coming to the city for the first time, i took a train from New Delhi railway station namely Rajdhani Express which is considered to be the best train in India offering exceptionally well services when compared to other but they charge a heavy fare as well...

Train took 2 nights to reach to Bangalore from New Delhi, so it was my first journey so long to an unkown city and that too alone! it was a nice experience it was like i am going out or very far from my home for the very first time and that too alone..

Writing after a long time

So writing here after a long time, its been a while since i have opened this blog of mine as most of the time i am busy updating the other one :P

So what now? my exams have finished i.e. 6th semester exams went well i suppose moreover results will tell how well they went as even my bad luck is so unlucky! please if you are reading this take 5 mins and pray a poor student like me..

Now a days holidays are going on and i am doing nothing at all

Coming on the anime part, these days i am watching Monster by Naoki Urasawa, its really amazing as i have a personal interest in these types of animes which have some suspense thrill shocks as well and moreover exceptionally well use of brain power or you can say their physchic abilities!

Asus P320: A Thorough Review

Introduction:

Alright I bought this phone way back in 2008(while i was in my 1st year engineering), alright getting down on the phone..

-Its a basic entry level smart phone(pocket pc) having some good features like you are have wi-fi in this price range.
Its design is really very appealing small compact yet stylish makes it unique among others, having a decent amount of display resolution(2.6 inches 240x320) with a 2 MP Auto focus camera with video recording capabilities as well....

Ok its about time that i discuss other parameters in detail...

Design:

Coming to the design part its really good, looks different small in size and fits perfectly in your palm and also the grip is also pretty decent enough to keep holding the device.

On the right hand side of the device you have a slider type of key/button slide it down to lock down the screen and push up to open the lock, this feature is quite normal in touch screen phones, the only problem is first the switch is pretty hard and sometimes the lock doesn't works at all and you have to restart the device!

And also you have a camera button which is just below the slider switch on the right of the device(which is also hard to press) and while pressing it the camera doesnt turns on all of in an instance meaning there by you have to keep pressing the button for approx 3 or 4 secs to activate your camera(and in these seconds you might miss that moment of shot which u were trying to take lol)...

On the of the device you have volume + and - button which is pretty handy and comfortable too.. and while operating this volume button you have the option to select instantaneously either one of them i.e. off mode(silent mode), Vibrate mode and regular/general sound mode and also you have the option to lower or increase the ringing volume all in all in a single dialogue box nice isnt it...

On the the top of your device you have the power on/off button which is really horrible!, firstly really small in size all cramped and really difficult/frustrating to press it and to top it off to switch on your device you have to keep pressing that shit button for 5 secs...

The back panel is pretty smooth and steady with a good lock not like any of the other mobile phones in which you need to make a use of some kind of tape to hold the back panel and whenever the tape goes off the back panel is off lol

The SIM card placement is decent enough and is tight enough so that your SIM card doesn't go air bound :P
and not to mentioning the size of the battery is massive(1100 mAh) even though the capacity of the battery is a bit on the greater side but still this you have to charge every night and moreover as time passes by it becomes lesser and lesser, I swear you have to carry a spare battery if you are on the move....

Performance:

In one word if i have to say......"HORRIBLE"... with only 200 Mhz processor running Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional really not a good idea.. and also with only 128 mb ROM and 64 mb RAM..

To test the performance in a single go just open the internet explorer provided by the device's OS OR you open up windows media player and play a song, minimize it and open your message inbox and start messaging and you will understand what i am talking about...

You open multiple applications and it will eat up your memory in no time, phone becomes sluggish as hell, to overcome this follow the standard procedure to go to the task manager and kill all the apps which are eating up the phone memory.

So this was the multitasking thing, so just forget about it in this device...

Coming to playback capabilities it almost plays all the common audio formats(who cares much until .mp3 format is supported :P)

Coming to video playback it sucks big time! until now after so much of hit and trial, doing research in every corner of the www and by installing almost all the video players(which are available for windows based mobile) in the device, i came up to the conclusion that .avi (divx) plays smoothly without any hiccups using the divx player....

Anything left?!.....

Ergonomics:

Really horrible again if you are considering the stock device(meaning you havent installed any 3rd party apps) and without the use of stylus you are handicapped and will come on the verge of just throwing the device in your trash can! the touch screen is really bad and unresponsive and if you are thinking that you are going to operate this device with your fingers then you better dont...

Use of both hands is a must in almost everywhere considering that you are not using the help of the 4 way directional buttons which are present on the big round button or say the jog dial...

One handed operation seriously is very difficult especially when you are messaging or even when you are adding a new contact or just simple browsing the contents/settings of the phone especially without the stylus scrolling down in a page is almost impossible! again if not making the use of the directional buttons....

Verdict use of the stylus is a must in most of the cases, considering that you haven't installed any 3rd party software like the fingerkeyboard to solve your typing issues and making new contacts issues which again make the use of typing your contacts name....

Battery life

Despite having a powerful 1100 mAh battery, it givers really a low backup no doubt in the new days it will give good backup but when your battery grows old you will seriously buy another spare batter.. the battery life is not that good i must say

Verdict:
If you are really on a tight budget and want to experience the feel of a pocket pc then only go with this option otherwise you will definitely suffer.... and will think that this is a waste...

The Good:
What should i say in this now really nothing as such just an ordinary phone with a nice and sleek design which looks very appealing....

The Bad
-- Poor battery backup
-- Really slow processor
-- Frequent hangs
-- No option for creating group contacts
-- No bluetooth icon indicator(and while transferring any data there is no progress bar)

and many more to mention will keep you updated whenever i will encounter one :)

Flashing my mobile

Alright i have this mobile phone which is the Asus P320 its a windows mobile based phone having an OMAP 200 Mhz processor, its really a horrible phone but anyways if you are new into PDA's then you can better start with(but not these days as you have hell lots of other options), i bought this device way back in 2008 so its been 2 yrs with it now

The device was shipped with the Windows Mobile 6.1 (WM 6.1) which was way too much horrible for each and every task you have to take out the stylus, and is not at all finger touch friendly

Anyways later on in 2009 geeks at xda forums cooked up a ROM(windows mobile 6.5) for this device which was really stunning and was very efficient but came with a lots of bugs which were to be rectified.....

So just out of curiosity i also downloaded the ROMS and flashed my device to this new Windows Mobile 6.5 version and when i managed to get it running on my device man it was indeed awesome, really finger touch friendly and with loads of other cool apps and came with stunning graphics too... but as i told there were loads of bugs which sometimes become too much way too much annoying while using your phone..

Later on i went searching for a better more stable version of the ROM and found one website which hosted the ROM the developer was Manas Girdhar you can reach him by this URL www.psppc.in

ROM built by this geek was great indeed with minimal of errors when compared with others but still it was not stable i am sorry to say, there was a main BIG problem that every time the phone wakes up from sleep the network reboots and while it reboots the device gets hanged leaving you help less! and another bug which i came across after crossing a certain limit in your inbox sms's say mine was over 900 messages the phone started performing very very poorly wonder why?!

As a result yesterday night i flashed back to my previous version of windows mobile which was 6.1 cuz of stability issues and lots of other issues as well now mobile is back in its original form...

After my Senior High

Alright here i am having my High School marks card and Senior High marks card all set to begin a degree in an engineering discipline!

Ok i had only one choice is to pursue my course from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, India, oh yes you are thinking it right this is a central university and also is situated in my home town so naturally i was limited to only this option, there were two factors

1.) It was a central university and was also in my home town so there was no tension of food, shelter and other things

2.) Secondly it was damn cheap in terms of tution fees so this was also a big point

Anyways but the only thing which will stop you from getting into this university is the entrance test, it is damn tough, students prepare hard and go on extreme to pull this test off and to secure their admission into this course... taking tutions day and night studying like hell, some may bear the needed fruit and some not... and in the queue of those unfortunate ones i was also included..

Having said that i will tell in more clear words that i was not selected when i checked my result on the web site it said "sorry not selected"(as expected :P) ok the party was over and i have my whole year now to think what to do next if otherwise i take admission into some private college with the help of some money i.e. by donation... which my dad is not going to pay in any way

Ok that was the end i decided that this is it and i am going to loose one year(which is common in Aligarh) and i will have to work hard, take tutions and follow the strict regular routine to prepare well for my entrance exam next year....

While i was on the verge of breaking down into emotions my elder brother came for my rescue and strictly said to me and my dad that he is not going to waste whole God damn year in anyway i am going to fund him and he is going to bangalore for his further studies...

Alright from now on my journey towards a new city begins...

Ok i am the creator of this blog so its fair to tell you about me...

The story goes like this

First of all i am a student pursuing my Engineering (though it may fancy you but in India its a very common word and people are not wowed by this) from Computer Science, having said that this doesnt mean that i am a geek who had taken a major in Computer Science and who knows lots of jargons which are flying in this computer world...

Going in the past story goes like this..

I completed my High School (10th std) from a small town which is called by the name as Aligarh which is in the state Uttar Pradesh in India... though my parents were settled there so naturally(if not) i was also there... i just somehow managed to get 62% marks, well honestly speaking it was a great achievement for me as didn't expected that and not to mentioning i messed up my mathematics paper so i was having some serious doubts that whether i will pass or not in maths but i got lucky!

Alright High School part ended and the next phase started, here in India(if you are already an India then you may skip this) we have some major series of horrible events coming up for students after our High School, seriously those are some of the toughest times especially for a student whose parents were also toppers in their student lives!...

Ok moving ahead what i meant by horrible series of events is that after High school we have to take admissions into Senior High or simple which we call it here as 10+2 or simply +2, here a student has to decide what stream he is going to adopt or not... its a bit tough call as whole of the community jumps into your mind giving you opinions on each and every stream which will make your mind in a completely confused state as a result you are left to say "I am sorry i forgot what i have to do next! lol" ....

Coming to me again i took the science stream in my +2 as i was interested in pursuing engineering (having said that honestly back then i had no idea what engineering actually means!) anyways i had to choose mathematics as my main and physics, chemistry and english as subsidary but i was so so unlucky that by that time all the seats got filled in mathematics poor me i didnt had any other choices left i chose biology then(meant for those who are interested in becoming docs to save innocent lives on planet..) and to top it off i had to choose mathematics as an additional subject else i could not be eligible to enter into engineering courses, phew ok now i am ready with a loads of subjects and just some months left for my final exams...

Again i somehow managed to score 61% marks in my final exams of class 12th, seriously at the first sight i was like is this for real how can this be possible! me passed with 1st division impossible! lol ok it was for real...

But there was a surprise waiting for me when i took my marks card into my hand and tadaa .... there it was the present was open and i failed to pass in mathematics exam as my main subject was biology and maths being additional so it showed me pass with 1st div. anyways, after going from that trauma of getting failed for the first time i somehow managed to get up on my feet and started preparing .... exam was one month after the marks card came ...

Ok i was all set to appear for my maths exam, hey i will cut it here cuz this in itself is a whole kind of freakin story that how i wrote the exam and how i cheated my way to victory to pass the exam!

So now my +2 is finished... i will write more what happened next, till then take care :)

Hi folks

Finally my exams are over not to mentioning i just somehow managed to pull all the exams somehow lets hope the result also comes upto my expectation :) otherwise i am doomed :P

I only messed up one paper which was Operating System 06CS52 (V.T.U) hope i get pass marks, rest i also had one back paper Graph Theory 06CS42, man the question paper was very easy hope i will get good marks in this....

I am expecting a fair result this time (which i always do but it turns out to be just the opposite xD) lets hope for the best...
